June Newsletter

As i was not able to attend the last guild meeting i have had nothing to report to you, sorry about that!

So as a simple update here is this months quick newsletter straight from Robbin W.!

June 2015 Guild Newsletter

Meeting 6:30 p.m., June 15, 2015 at First Christian Church Donation Sewing: There will be donation sewing starting at 3:00. Bring your machine and tools.

Meeting Agenda Wear name tags, sign in for door prize.
Refreshments/Social Gathering at 6:00 p.m: Helen M. & Irene V.
Show & Tell will begin taking place during refreshments.
Quilts will be set out on the tables after showing along with any information you want to share, including pattern name, fabric, made by, quilted by, other information.

Crossroads Quilt Guild
May 18, 2015
Refreshments were served by Sharon D., Adice F., and Leslie S.
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. with 26 members present.

Show and Tell took place with 37 Project Linus Blankets and 6 Veterans Quilts being donated.

Minutes from the April 20th meeting were approved after changing the cost of a business size ad in the quilt show booklet.

The Treasurer’s Report was distributed by Harvy G. We currently have a balance of ($ see you email!) in the account.

Marilyn S. reported on the Quilt Show Meeting earlier in the day.
-An ad for the Quilt Show will be placed in the Spring Flyer in the Effingham Daily News
-Blanketing Effingham with Project Linus AND Veterans Quilts will take place again this year.
-Sharon D. will place ads on the radio, marquis signs, and County Register. She will also make table toppers for the entryway tables at the show.
-There will be goodie bags this year and Crystal H. will be donating fabric for fat quarters.
-Effingham Printing will be donating note pads for the bags. On a motion by Dorothy S., second by LeAnn S., Sharon D. will be looking into getting ink pens as an addition to the bag.
-5 ads have been paid for.

Rita N. reported she spoke to Wilma from Stitch & Sew and the Bed Turning Theme will be Amish Quilts.

The guild was not able to sell quilt raffle tickets at the Artisan Fair so members were asked to sell extra chances. Pat S. had tickets available for members to take and sell.

Veteran’s Quilt Blocks are still coming in from members. 6 quilts have been completed with more to be returned next

Marilyn S. reported we now have a liability insurance policy in effect.

A motion was made by Leslie S., second by Irene V., to donate ($ -see your email!) Watson United Methodist Church for use of the church for the retreat and Thursday sewing. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Betty Shutter, second by Rita N., to change the Project Linus sewing to Thursday’s at Watson Church. The fabric and kits will be kept at the church.

Nita M. was the winner of the door prize.

Meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.

Upcoming Dates:
– Every Thursday is sewing at Watson Church – All guild members are welcome, as well as anyone else who wants to sew. Project Linus kits and fabric will be available.
– Next meeting is June 15. Sandy Fisher will show how to make continuous bias binding. Bring a square of fabric if you wish to cut biding. Refreshments will be served by Helen M. and Irene V. Robin W., Secretary
